Life with Jesus

I went to Louisiana this weekend for a Wills family reunion. We took Josh’s year-and-a-half old niece, Alyssa, without her mom. Therefore, I was the surrogate mom.

It was fun to meet everyone there but it was poorly organized. We waited around for about six hours and then we would go do one thing and then we would wait around again. Most of the reunion took place at a casino. Well, I’m not 21 and they have absolutely nothing for babies. I tried to make Alyssa lie down on one of their silk couches but she had her sippy cup full of milk and I got nervous. Then she would run away into crowds of creepy casino people. I got real tired of babies real quick.

On Friday night, we had tried to go eat at the casino with everyone else but we got lost and then we couldn’t find them. Josh had a headache because he was so hungry. Then we got lost in downtown Shreveport. We were driving through the ghetto basically. It was pretty scary. Then we miraculously ended up back at our hotel. Score!

This was boring, I know. It’s because I’m still worn out from the whole experience.

I leave you with a quote:

Today we have substituted doctrinal belief for personal belief and that is why so many people are devoted to causes and so few are devoted to Jesus Christ.- Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest.

  1. in the outlet mall, there’s a great asian food place. it’s like a pei wei or a areally fast p.f. changs. it’s called get sum. i think. anywho, that place was great. i went to ‘la spa’ in the El Derado, where we were staying, and got a pedicure. then i babysat as well, but that kid just can’t get enough of me. my g-pa lives about 45 minutes away from shreveport too, so i don’t really mind going.

What do you think?
