Life with Jesus

1. “Pi are spuare jorf99 Callahead” is

a. some new math formula that I’ve discovered that tells me how to rule the world

b. Burmese for “I get married to someone after two weeks of knowing them.”

c. a reminder to call and meet Korey for lunch at Pi are Square

(The answer is C)

Yes that is an actual reminder that I put in my phone (what? i was in a rush!) so Korey’s new name is jorf99.  My next question is this: if I had sent that to you urgently, and you had to translate it, could you have done it? My guess is probably not unless you’re a genius.  See, my message didn’t make sense to you.

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.  1 Corinthians 1:18

We have a message, kiddos. A message that makes about as much sense as jorf99 means Korey to those who don’t know God.  We aren’t just supposed to send it to them and then let them try to figure it out.  That would be mean and they would miss lunch with jorf99.  So…

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and TEACHING them to obey everything I have commanded you. Matthew 28:18

Once in landscaping, I was in the shop with Sky (my Wiccan friend- her real name’s Amanda) and another kid who was Mr. Southern Baptist. They got to talking about religion and when Sky told him that she practiced witchcraft, know what he said? “That’s dumb.” Then she got ticked off and I was ticked off at him because that is the exact wrong thing to say. He sent her a message that didn’t make sense to her but he wasn’t going to explain it so she got confused and might have missed her appointment with Jesus.  Isn’t that sad? We need to be responsible for the people that we witness to. It’s not usually a one time thing. So, don’t send people messages about jorf99 and then leave them to figure it out.
